My Mother, My Clothes :)

Dear Mom!

I miss you very much and am so happy that we were able to spend such great time together in 1988 & 1989!  1988 we enjoyed getting "all gussied" up together on this Mexico Cruise and in 1989 our 4 week Europe Mom and Daughter Vacation which included the overnight Orient Express Train, Venice, Amsterdam (we drove from Venice to Amsterdam),  and Paris.

I dedicate this Blog to you, my Mother, one of the classiest Chassis around for all my years growing up (and before)  until you "moved on" in 1994.  Your closet(s) have been a source of inspiration, confusion, window of understanding and contributor to my own closet :)  I hope  you can laugh with me at my own Clothes journey, with a good dose of you, Mom, sprinkled through out.   After 15 years, I finally re-opened the boxes we had packed up  to bring back to Hawaii after you departed the earth.  I was able to feel your spirit as I touched your clothes, hats, jewelry, etc, with nimble fingers.   You came alive again in my imagination!  I have a little shrine in your honor (and Dad's) with 3 of your hats from the 30's-40's, pictures of you all decked out and foxy starting at age 16, a clear acrylic purse with a purple sheer scarf inside, and a few of the broaches you use to wear.  I walk by it several times a day.  So "Hat's Off" to you Mom,  Marguerite Jacques Johnson.   All my Love,     Melissa, your one and only baby girl.

There is MUCH more to come about my Mother and My clothes.  Words and picture!  I wanted to give my Mother the credit she deserves, early on.

Fondest Alohas
